A BRIEF PROFILE OF DR GODWIN AKPAN 
Godwin Akpan Ph.D hails from Edem Idem in Akai Ubium, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. He Holds BA (Hons) English, MA English and PGDBA all from the University of Uyo. He had held positions in Uniuyo Alumni Association: Director of Organization and Deputy National President. At the National level of Conference of Alumni Association of Nigerian Universities (CAANU), he had served as National Treasurer, Vice President South South, National Secretary. He is a very committed member of the Uniuyo Alumni Association. 

He is one of the pioneer recipients of the University of Uyo award as an AMBASSADOR OF UNIUYO given to him by the university of Uyo under the seal of the Vice Chancellor. 

He is a member of many Professional Bodies. He is an academia who has taught in secondary schools, and tertiary institutions. He is widely travelled. He is a community leader. That earned him a chieftaincy title of OBONG IBEREDEM by his community. He has authored many academic texts which had been approved by the Akwa Ibom State Government for use in the secondary schools in the state.

 He is committed to Labour Movement. He had served as Secretary General, Academic Staff Union of the Polytechnics (ASUP) Ikot Osurua, served as Vice Chairman, Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU). At the Student Union level at the University of Uyo, he had served as SECRETARY GENERAL, NAAKISS and Chairman Caretaker committee NAAKISS Worldwide.

 He was a one time Governing Council Member of the College of Education, Afaha Nsit. He is a Jerusalem Pilgrim and an Elder in The Apostolic Church Nigeria and an ambassador of light of The Apostolic Church Nigeria. Dr Akpan had been the State Focal Person on National Social Investment Programmes of the Federal Government in charge of School Feeding, Npower, Cash Transfer etc.

MISSION 
Beyond the traditional minutes taking and records keeping by the Secretary, I am poised to build a Secretariat where all Uniuyo Alumni can access information on real time. I will build a web where all chapters of Uniuyo Alumni will connect, and attain to all correspondences and queries of members. I will continue to connect Uniuyo Alumni to National Politics of Alumni Associations.
